How different are the education systems?

The education systems are quite different especially with America’s common core education. In this post there will be a table listing the differences between the education systems of Canada and the U.S.

Canadian Education SystemAmerican Education System
Uses freshman, sophomore, junior and senior in college/university
Is divide into 3 levels, primary, secondary, post-secondary
School year starts in September and ends in June
Schools have french immersion programs which the student can chose to be in the program or not
College is a lower level of post-secondary school that is for the average person
In high school you chose whether you want to be in academic or applied classes
Uses freshman, sophomore, junior and senior in college/university
Uses the common core system
Is divided into 4 levels elementary, middle, high, college/university
School years starts in August and ends in May
College and university are the same thing just one sounds more profesional than the other
In high school you just chose you classes and they are all one level of education
